To coincide with the Jack Goldstein exhibition Nottingham Contemporary will be offer the opportunity to experience works by two of his contemporaries; Stan Brakhage and Hollis Frampton

Stan Brakhage, was an American non-narrative filmmaker who is considered to be one of the most important figures in 20th century experimental film.

23rd Psalm Branch, was made in response to the Vietnam War. In 23rd Psalm Branch Brakhage  contrasts scenes of his tranquil life in rural Colorado with footage of the second world war. Created under the influence of Tacitus and Edward Gibbon, 23rd Psalm Branch  pushes 8mm film to its furthest limits and remains one of Brakhage's most compelling works.
